Contrary to popular belief, most countries do NOT observe daylight saving time. Only about 70 countries use DST, while over 120 stay on standard time year-round.
Why most countries don't use DST
Countries near the equator have nearly equal day and night throughout the year, so DST provides no practical benefit. Many tropical and subtropical nations have never adopted it.
